Saying Yes to Jesus

When you say yes to Jesus (Yeshua) for what he did on the cross, there is an exchange that takes place. He died for you, giving you his life, and he expects you to give him your life—every part of it. We are to depend on him to provide and take care of us in every area of our lives. Without Jesus (Yeshua), we are nothing.

You have to have faith and believe in his promises, which are throughout Scripture. If you do not, you are going to hold on to some area in your life, not letting Jesus take care of it. That part of your life can become messy if it is not given over to him. The more you hold on to an area of your life without giving it over to Jesus (Yeshua) to work out for you, the more you are treading on thin ice.

John 15:5

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me, and I in you, you will bear much fruit. Apart from me you can do nothing.”

Jesus requires all of your life—the good days and the bad days. Every day we are to die to self. We are not to take it upon ourselves to do everything on our own, because apart from him, as he says, we can do nothing. Jesus works in and through us with the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit, which he gives to each one of us when we make him Lord and Savior. Seek him every day. Worship him in Spirit and in truth. When we say yes to Jesus and to his will for our lives, he blesses us, and we become new creatures in him.

2 Corinthians 5:17

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

1 John 5:11–12

“And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.”

Not only is Jesus (Yeshua) a loving God, but he is also a just God who requires obedience. Denying yourself, picking up your cross, and following him is what he asks of us. He will teach you how to live, transform your life, and bless you. He died for salvation.

Heaven is not for people who live for themselves, but for people who die to self—to their ego, their emotions, their sinful ways. Hell is for those who choose to live their own way, partying and doing their own thing. Without God, you are your own god.

True salvation means taking the life Jesus (Yeshua) gave and giving him yours. There is nothing you can do to earn salvation. It is a free gift Yeshua Hamashiach paid for, but you were bought with a price! Glorify God, for he paid for you. Jesus (Yeshua) wants us to surrender to God’s will and purpose, for each person has a purpose.

Jesus (Yeshua) wants everyone to come to him as they are. He will help you see the light if you have been in the dark, for Jesus Christ (Yeshua Hamashiach) is the Light of the world. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life—our true King of Kings.

The call to baptism is a call to decide whether one is truly ready to declare that Christ is Lord and to submit to the Spirit’s sanctifying work, which begins with a clean slate—a fresh start. Baptism is what you spiritually do.

Repentance involves turning away from sin and acknowledging your need for forgiveness. Belief in Jesus Christ (Yeshua Hamashiach) as the Messiah is essential for salvation, as stated in Mark 16:16: “Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved.”

Baptism is an outward sign of faith and commitment, symbolizing the washing away of sins and the receiving of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 2:38

Peter said, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.”

We are to remain in Jesus (Yeshua) every day.
